Talk Description

To learn how we may heal the deepest of wounds, the Tzu Chi Center invites psychiatrist and Zen Buddhist practitioner Andrew Twardon, Ph.D to C.A.F.E. 229.

Throughout his career, he has worked with many patients experiencing personality disorder and other psychological afflictions. For our program, he has distilled this wisdom to present and break down how to understand any given person by recognizing three aspects of what constitutes the ‘self.’ These include:

  • our personality traits
  • our philosophical self
  • our subjective awareness

Join us for this illuminating conversation to learn what these aspects mean, as well as how Zen Buddhism and western psychotherapy techniques may be combined to help patients – and us – find freedom from senses of self.

See the video above for our full program.
