Global Projects

Compassion knows no borders. At the Tzu Chi Center, we are honored to present our humanitarian missions outside the US, taking place among vibrant communities for which traditional aid falls short or worse – does not exist.

Love & Compassion For Ukraine

Unable to bear the suffering that has resulted from conflict in Ukraine, Tzu Chi founder Dharma Master Cheng Yen has called on the people of the world to harness their compassion and turn it into action. Tzu Chi volunteers are mobilizing humanitarian relief that includes critical supplies like medicine, food, eco-blankets, living essentials, and more.

COP28

The 28th UN Climate Change Conference is taking place in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, to advocate for ambitious climate action and showcase innovative solutions around creating sustainable food systems and community based climate resilience, all while reflecting on what values lie at the heart of our global commitment to climate action.

El Menahil Promise

After civil war broke out in Syria in 2011, together we saw the largest refugee crisis of our time. El Menahil Promise is dedicated to supporting the needs of Syrian refugee children and their families now living in Turkey. With all those connected to El Menahil School in Istanbul, we’re providing promising opportunities for children and adults to heal from the past, embrace the present, and see hope after war.

Keeping Hope Alive: 10 Years of Care in Haiti

When a 7.0 magnitude earthquake rocked Haiti in 2010, Tzu Chi volunteers travelled there to provide disaster relief. What they did instead – even through hurricanes, floods, and all that has followed – was plant seeds of love that have blossomed over the past decade. Through our photos, we bore witness to mankind’s extraordinary resilience, courage, and resolve to choose hope.

Rebuilding With Faith

In 2016, a 7.8 magnitude earthquake rattled Ecuador’s coast – crumbling a beloved place of worship in the city of Canoa. Committed to restoring this beacon of hope for its residents, Tzu Chi USA began an ambitious effort to rebuild. The Church of Canoa and its grounds finally reopened to the public in July 2019.

Rebuilding With Trust and Love

Sitting on top of three tectonic plates, Mexico is one of the most seismically active countries in the world. In 2017, the Puebla Earthquake struck near Mexico City, resulting in chaos, injury, and great destruction. When Tzu Chi volunteers began to offer disaster relief, they discovered a people and culture very deeply rooted in survival, strength, and an ancient legacy.
