Event Description
An intergenerational and interfaith panel of stakeholders share perspectives and reflections on how communities around the world utilize empathy and compassion in action to achieve the human right to a safer, more equitable, and peaceful world that leaves no one behind.
Background:
We live in unprecedented times, where multiple intersecting crises are wreaking havoc on our social and planetary systems. In such scenarios, there is an urgent need for societal action to bring about peace and positive change, that goes beyond economic justifications, to address the root causes of these global challenges. By harnessing human values of empathy and compassion, we can foster a connection between the past, present, and future, drawing on best practices to effectively create a peaceful world for all. This session will bring together a multigenerational panel of stakeholders to share case studies of the actions that are being undertaken globally, using empathy and compassion to emphasize the significance of adopting a values-based approach to ensuring the human right to a safer, more equitable, and peaceful world that leaves no one behind.
