Join us at the Tzu Chi Center for Compassionate Relief for an intimate event with author Karima Romaniv! She will be sharing her story of experiencing war in and displacement from Ukraine, her fateful meetings with Tzu Chi Relief volunteers in Poland, and her new beginnings in Taiwan.
Attendees will also be able to explore our exhibit, Uprooted: Compassion After Displacement. With vivid photos, illustrations, and moving videos, Uprooted tells the stories of people from all over the world who have experienced displacement, as well as how Tzu Chi played a pivotal role in their journeys to find a new home—just like Karima’s.
And, as a special bonus, Karima will unveil her first book, recently published in Chinese. It contains the entries of her personal diary, which she created as events unfolded in Ukraine in the spring of 2022.
This book, it’s not about politics; it’s about people's life, people’s destiny, great love, [the] great mission of Tzu Chi in Warsaw and how they helped for Ukrainian people.
Light refreshments will be served. This event is free.
